The irony of blogging of course, is that when you have something to say, you are too busy to blog; when you have lots of time to blog, you have done nothing to report. Or so it goes for me.
This was a busy weekend for me. Friday I worked setup for the Canton Mothers of Multiples Club semi-annual sale. I then got to shop the pre-sale starting 8 p.m. Friday. I had a short list of things I was looking for, including Easter outfits, swimsuits, and a few toys for Tommy like trucks and balls. My kiddos are definitely not lacking for clothing, but I think I managed to buy almost as many clothes as I took to sell.
Here's a few views of the sales floor...
toys...
baby gear
more baby gear and toys...
more than 30 double and triple strollers...
(we had to start double parking them because we ran out of room)
and yes, someone even sold a huge fire truck
and lots and lots of clothing
I returned at 2 p.m. on Saturday, just at the end of the sale, to pick up my leftover items.
This was all that remained. The official tally was 7053 items sold!
Unfortunately I had a trunk full of unsold items. Newborn items are the most difficult to sell because people bring so much of it to sell from all of the gifts that we receive at showers. And most of the people giving them gifts are buying new rather than used items. Makes sense I suppose. I think I probably about broke even. My kiddos have lots of new toys to play with, a swing for outside, and Christmas gifts hidden in the upstairs closet now.
After picking up my leftovers, I FINALLY met up with Wyatt
and introduced him to his newest cousins.
We went to IHOP and were joined by my sister Lindy (Wyatt's mom),
her daughters Phoebe...
and Emma...
and Phoebe's friend Lori...
Because I am now blogging, I took a picture of my dinner.
Just in time, as you can see it almost got stolen by that pesky cattle rustler.
Yum... stuffed french toast!
Tommy and Ellie definitely enjoyed eating out...
with the big kid silverware...
All in all, a great day.
Especially nice to see Wyatt again.
And while I blog, I am missing Sunday nap time.
Don't know how long this blogging thing is gonna work for me!
Hahahah! I can now say I'm not the only blogger who takes pics of her food! You are really in the blog mojo now! Those kiddos of yours are growing like a weed...or two weeds! So cute and I'm glad you had the fun time with family. I was amazed at the amount of "stuff" that was for sale. I'm sure many people with multiples know about this but I need to inform my friend Shay (who spoke at our meeting) because not only does she have twins..but her brother and his wife are expecting triplets in June! Hope you get that nap girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteShay's SIL wouldn't be Melissa Kemery would she?
DeleteAnd it seems to be a requirement for bloggers to take pictures of their food at some point. At least the ones I read, but then again, I read a lot of food blogs!
That was one heck of a spread! Maybe you'll have to do a yard sale to sell your newborn stuff. I always sold a ton of the kids stuff at yard sales when they were in the baby/toddler stage. Another place is Once Upon a Child in Ontario, they buy things, but honestly you're better off at your own yard sale.
ReplyDeleteThe blogging thing has highs and lows and noone said you had to blog daily! Keep it up you'll love printing your journal at the end of the year with all the cute pics of the babies.
I shop at Once Upon a Child occasionally. They don't give a very large percentage if you are selling though. With CMOMC I got to keep 90% of the sale price. I think I can find a few new moms to give my remainders to. :)
DeleteAnd I'm sure that this week was a fluke--I doubt that I will have such frequent posts, but I am going to aim for at least once a week. I have a few big gaps in my picture taking, so hopefully this will get me to pull out my camera more often even if I don't write down my thoughts that day.
